Art and About Sydney have commissioned Sydney-based creative studio Mundane Matters to produce the thought-provoking artwork Wasteland. Made from 120kg of marine debris collected from the Great Barrier Reef, Wasteland voices 2 of the world’s most urgent problems: plastic pollution and food waste.Suspended from the ceiling of Customs House, the rescued materials have been reimagined as 2,255 objects that resemble oranges.

The Harbour Walk will be a cultural experience which presents First Nations narratives embedded in sites along the foreshore, beginning at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour continuing along to Garden Island in Woolloomooloo Bay.
