Customs House Sydney - 4th October 2018.  Portrait of artist Danling Xiao installing Wasteland. Art and About Sydney have commissioned Sydney-based creative studio Mundane Matters to produce the thought-provoking artwork Wasteland. Made from 120kg of marine debris collected from the Great Barrier Reef, Wasteland voices 2 of the world’s most urgent problems: plastic pollution and food waste.Suspended from the ceiling of Customs House, the rescued materials have been reimagined as 2,255 objects that resemble oranges.
